Taxfix bags USD 30m Series B

Taxfix is making tax filing easier around the world.

Taxfix (Redalpine Capital III), the mobile-first tax assistant, picks up USD 30m in a Series B financing round. Following our Seed investment in late 2017 and a Series A in summer 2018, Valar Ventures is now leading the round with participation of Redalpine and Creandum. The investment will support Taxfix’s further product development and global growth strategy.

In many countries around the globe, tax filing remains a daunting task. Millions of taxpayers either forego their refunds or are unable to correctly file their tax returns due to the complicated design of tax forms and programs. By creating a customer-friendly interface and smart technology, Taxfix finally makes it possible for anyone to claim their full tax refund. A smart assistant asks simple, personalized questions that guide users step-by-step through the process. Thanks to Taxfix’s technology, users can file taxes 10 times faster than with traditional form-filling software.

Today, thousands of tax returns are being filed through Taxfix in Germany every week. Many come from users filing for the first time in their life looking to receive an average refund of almost 1’000 Euros. Currently, Taxfix facilitates more than EUR 5m per week in tax refunds for their users — an amount that would otherwise remain unclaimed.

Co-Founder & CEO of Taxfix Mathis Büchi says, “We are incredibly proud that with Taxfix, we are helping especially those people who have never been able to easily file a tax return before. Together with Valar Ventures, Redalpine and Creandum, we can now make further investments to fundamentally change the tax market not only in Germany but on an international scale”.

With this investment, Taxfix joins the ranks of the fastest growing FinTech companies in Europe. We are excited to be part of this journey and to support the team tackling this great opportunity.
