Redalpine invests in apaleo, disruptor of hotel management software

We are delighted to announce Redalpine’s investment in apaleo, the next generation property management system for hotels.

Munich-based apaleo provides the world's first entirely open ecosystem for the hospitality industry. The company was founded in 2017 by a team of experienced hospitality entrepreneurs and cloud software experts.

One of the biggest pain points for hoteliers and technology providers alike, is integration of systems, processes and data. The cost and time invested in interfaces between legacy and third-party systems have plagued the hospitality industry for years. apaleo is removing these barriers.

apaleo’s flexible, native cloud-based property management system serves as the core software for hotels. Third party apps can instantly be plugged in to the system through apaleo’s public, two-way API, giving hotels the freedom to customize their software stack with their favorite apps. And, hotels can find and test new applications through the apaleo Store. This open approach brings together hospitality companies, technology vendors and app developers in a way like never before. Hotels will no longer be limited by their technology, and third parties will have a powerful open interface to pull all relevant data into their apps, apply business logic and push any data back into the platform.

apaleo opened its doors to customers at the beginning of 2018. The company has already onboarded a number of hotels and hotel groups across several European countries.

Redalpine Founding Partner Peter Niederhauser summarizes: “The Open Hospitality Cloud ecosystem represents a new paradigm in hotel technology. apaleo is the promising case of a highly experienced, successful and visionary founding team. They have a unique focus on hospitality and technology which could truly reshape the hotel industry.”

We are happy to welcome apaleo to the portfolio and are looking forward to working with the team.
