Now available for sale in the United Kingdom, the groundbreaking medical innovation easily and comfortably gathers BP data during night and day and will provide people and their physician's comprehensive insights into blood pressure patterns allowing better-informed diagnosis and management of hypertension.
Millions of people worldwide are at risk for severe health complications and death due to untreated or uncontrolled hypertension. In fact, 1 in 3 adults is hypertensive, and what’s even worse, 50% thereof are unaware. And those who are aware measure their blood pressure on average only once per week due to the inconvenience and discomfort associated with a traditional cuff.
Aktiia’s bracelet is the first product to automatically measure blood pressure over the course of hours, days, and weeks without any effort required by the wearer. The BP data is then visualized in a free companion application and can also be shared with a physician or family member to detect concerning blood pressure changes.
The core technology of the Swiss startup founded by leading experts in optical blood pressure monitoring Dr. Mattia Bertschi and Dr. Josep Sola was first developed at the prestigious Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) and has been validated in multiple clinical studies across a diverse population of wearers in multiple body positions.
