Redalpine invests in ENVIRIA to help businesses go solar

ENVIRIA founder Melchior Schulze Brock

Most recently, Redalpine has been investing strongly in companies committed to making a positive impact on the environment. One enormous challenge in stopping climate change is transforming the means of energy production and consumption – now interconnected with the need to reduce Europe’s dependency on Russian energy sources. Key to a successful energy transition is lifting the massive potential for solar power production from large commercial and industrial roofs.

There is no company better placed to accomplish this than Melchior Schulze Brock and his team at ENVIRIA. The team has created a suitable approach to make renewable energy easily accessible to companies in a decentralized way and at scale. Therefore, Redalpine is delighted to announce its investment in ENVIRIA (Redalpine Capital VI) in its €22.5m Series A. ENVIRIA is Redalpine’s sixth investment with a focus on sustainability – delivering true impact from its business activities without compromising on economic performance.

ENVIRIA provides large-scale solar solutions to B2B clients – from SMEs and corporates through to the real estate sector – without distracting them from their core business. ENVIRIA’s all-in-one offering reduces the complexity companies face in adopting renewable energy to reduce their energy costs and meet growing regulatory and socioeconomic targets to decarbonize the economy. The power generated can be used by the companies themselves or fed into the grid. This will boost energy consumption from large commercial roofs that currently remain widely unused. To date, ENVIRIA has developed more than 105 commercial projects with an installed capacity of over 50MW – saving over 28,000 tons of CO2 emissions last year alone.

ENVIRIA will use the new capital from the financing round to scale and further develop its B2B solar concepts, build up its technology platform and extend the team in the areas of management, IT, sales and operations. We are joined in this round by infrastructure investment firm Galileo Green Energy, impact investor Alter Equity and BNP Paribas Développement.

We are impressed by ENVIRIA’s expertise and fast growth and excited to join the outstanding team on its mission to become the leading renewable energy provider focused on the specific needs of businesses. We believe the company has the potential to become a backbone of the decentralized and renewable energy transition.
