Next Redalpine Exit: Teads sells for USD 308m

Teads, the No. 1 video advertising marketplace worldwide and a Redalpine Capital I portfolio company is being acquired by Altice, a multinational telecom and media company.

The company has been valued by Altice at USD 308m, based on certain revenues targets in 2017 being met. The transaction is expected to close mid-2017, subject to customary competition reviews.

Teads has long been the frontrunner in video advertising with its ground-breaking out-stream formats that allow advertisers and brands to access premium inventory outside of video content that was previously unavailable. Through its platform, Teads reaches an audience of more than 1.2bn unique visitors, including more than 700m on mobile.

The company had just recently announced record-breaking numbers for 2016, with a 40% YoY revenue growth to USD 200m. With the acquisition, Altice will complement its business with Teads’ market-leading ad-tech assets, including Teads’ powerful digital publisher platform with global reach and the extensive partnerships with publishers and advertisers alike.

Congratulations to the Teads team for building a world-leader in advertisement technology and achieving a great exit! We are intrigued to see where Teads will be going as part of the Altice family.
