kenbi raises €23.5M Series A to fuel healthcare@home vision

kenbi founders Katrin Alberding, Bruno Pires and Clemens Raemy

We are thrilled to announce the €23.5M Series A round of our portfolio company kenbi (Redalpine Capital IV), the tech-enabled healthcare-at-home startup. The round was led by Healthtech Growth Fund Endeavour Vision and included the existing investors. The newly raised funds will be used to further expand kenbi’s care services  across more states in Germany and for major product innovations.

kenbi provides professional healthcare services and products at home, through a large, decentralized network of mobile caregivers. These are coordinated through the company’s own modular technology and app stack, liberating resources and empowering agile teams.

In less than 2 years, kenbi has scaled to 22 care hubs. Its professional care-teams serve today over 1200 care patients and 500 advisory clients across three German states, amounting to more than 15,000 visits and personal touch points per month.

A key enabler for this rapid growth has been kenbi’s proprietary technology. Across the care industry, roughly 40% of a nurses’ time is wasted on manual paperwork. Hence creating internal efficiencies through tech has been a core focus for kenbi so far. Its digitization efforts have paid off with time savings of over 20% in the care process, improved hiring speed from an average six months to a matter of days, enabled flexible scheduling, improved instant communication and optimized care tours.

To pursue its healthcare@home vision, kenbi will also zoom-in on customer-facing innovations, such as a family app, featuring care reporting and an in-app shop, and explore integrations of online pharmacy and nurse-assisted telemedicine models, among others.

We are proud to be part of kenbi’s journey and congratulate the entire team on this major milestone.
